3 New arrivals at last.

We picked up our three ex bats yesterday and are very excited!! One is slightly 'oven ready' looking but the other two look ok.  The best looking one is very spiteful  and has been pecking the other two and keeping them away from the food.  We checked on the 'oven ready which was in the nest box and we got to see her lay our first egg :D  What should we do about the bullying, we realise that they have to establish a 'pecking order' but watching the bullying is very difficult.  We have tried putting the bully away for a bit to allow the others to feed.  Apart from that we are fasinated with them as this is our first time with chickens.

I'm too new at this to help with the bullying, but I do think we should have some photos.. I know enough to know it's the law!

You can get it from horsey suppliers........spray on the bare bits & should stop the others pecking. Just ask for purple spray, they'll know what you mean, hope this helps......very brave getting ex-bats as your first chooks....hope all goes well.

As long as they have plenty of space and you have more than one feeding/watering station they should sort it out themselves.
