Has anyone ever grown raddichio?

I bought some plants from ebay and they are doing really well but they don't look like I thought they would.  They currently have large green open leaves - does the red head come later?  Or is there a green version?

Help please!

They are only red when it's cold enough for them, they shall turn. :D

Thank you, I'm no longer worried!  :D

I got them to go into the bed with my radishes which have now all been harvested and eaten.

i have some growing on my plot and although the out side leaves are quite green its very red inside. maybe there is a green type

I don't know that, but I know there is one with green outer leaves and red heart.

Yes, but you see it's suddenly called chicory. Regardless of botany here Raddicchio is used for the red guys, I find.

Well, anyhow, whatever many shades they come in and whoever calls them whatever, all I'm saying that they lose colour when the weather is mild, which they do.
