Mine are very quiet, except about half and hour after I let them out they normally start honking, but always calm down after I go out and talk gently to them!!  They are fine then for the rest of the day.  It just means I have to get up even earlier and leave an hour or so before going to work!!

Think it is a game/habit they have got into!!
