apple juice from a juicer

I did 30 gallon last year using mine and i was fine.
It'll take a good one to hack it though.

I only managed a gallon at a time before I had to rest it due to the load.

It will also depend on the make of juicer and how efficient it is at removing juice and ejecting pulp.

We have quite a large juicer but even then it took a whole evening to juice enough apples for two gallons of juice. You have to clean out the juicing basket every few times you use it otherwise a lot of juice is ejected out with the pulp.

A better way if you have loads of apples is to invest in a small press. You can get them off ebay for less than £100 and even much less than that if you keep your eyes open. I bought one for £25 including delivery.

Then all you do is smash the apples, then fill your press and squeeze the juice out. You will end up with a lot less pulp and a lot less sediment when you come to ferment.

Don't forget to get a 'second run' with all the pulp. Put all the pressings into a bucket, add water sugar and yeast give it a good stir every day for a week and then strain into demijohns and get some apple wine as well
