I am writing because i wounderd if the colour of the legs of chickens can tell you if they are cock bird or hen?

Please can someone help.

With Orpington's you tend to find that the legs of the cock bird are more yellow and the female are more natural colour.

I think it depends of the breed of bird you have.

Dont quote me but I dont believe in this breed you can tell by leg colour, someone may prove me wrong however...

I have asked my friend who has bred Wyandottes for 40 years said that you can't tell by the colour of the legs but the cocks do tend to have thicker legs than the hens.
