Brilliant idea!  I am collecting my bottles but wasn't sure what else I was going to do with them other than use them to get water to the roots of some plants.  Will try this one next year!

when you use them elcie, twist the bottle into the soil;it makes them more stable,or you can run a cane through the hole bottle thats even better

If you can get any of those water cooler bottles, they are even better!
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I use half a dozen as mini water butts.  Cut them in half, then push the top half upside down into the bottom half to make a funnel.  Weigh down with a couple of stones or a bit of gravel.  They don't take long to fill with rain here in Devon.

I'm quite lucky cos i work as a dinner lady at a local primary school and i take home all the empty juice bottles(the extra big ones) and it saves them all from the bin.All my lettuce got a good start this year.

get the big juice or water  bottles ,cut both ends off,and split them down the middle lengthways, they make great mini greenhouses if you pull them open and clip them on to the edges  of window boxes really secure and cat proof!  make a run of them all the way along :D

if you can handle a jig saw? fist drill a hole, one large enough to allow your jig saw blade to go threw and then gently cut round on slow speed with the jig saw

it might help if someone can hold the kneck end of the bottle while you cut round.
