rabbit dropings for compost heap?

i have a couple of rabbits and they produce quite a bit of waste

my question is

could this be placed on a compost heap and left to compost ?

they are fed on a mix of dried vegtable rabbit food

there beddind is wood shavings and hay.

hope to here from someone soon

I think I'm right in saying that rabbit droppings are second only to poultry manure !!

Any (mostly) vegetarian droppings are perfect for the compost. You only need to avoid carnivores such as dog, cat, lion, crocodile, etc.

I shove some of the straw on ours as a balance to the green stuff. It seems to rot down fairly well.

PG is right, the mixed rabbit waste is better in the compost pile. But if you have just plain rabbit poo, it can go straight around plants as its not hot like other poos are. Whenever I find rabbit poo around my yard, I shovel it up and immediately put it around my rose bushes. Great stuff.

We had to get the crocs in to keep the lions off the flower beds.  :shock:

They just trample everything  :roll:

must disagree here lion dodo is excellent for manure .keeps rats an dogs and other cats away as well. courtesy kessingland wildlife park a big pile of mixed poop is available  :wink:
