Strange...I've had a similar prob with my perpetual strawbs....some flowers not getting polinated tho lots of insects, then turning brown. Wasn't drought because the earth under the straw was very damp. That's what made me think over-watering. I know I had nasty bugs as well so I've cut out all the flowers now but (typical) most of the fruit I cut out was fine
Never mind....strong plants next year!
