no its true matey .what happens is tge carots tap root hits a high concentration of feed and shocks itself into branching out as it would have in the wild .thus getting more feed and seeding faster

tell yer what i will do i will sow some on soil that was manured in september and grow some on soil that will be manured shortly,same type and same method with the timber posts and debris netting.
also i will put on my druids costume and do crazy chants to the moon when i sow them  :D
feed the soil not the plants

I have some Amsterdam Forcing 3 seeds which say sow Feb-July but surely its too early for sowing carrots? Or is it?

Sow under glass in feb cloches to warm up fer a week then sow bit chancy but should werk this year
