We all know that vegmandan wants to grow a 10 lb onion.

What's your ultimate aim?

Me? I'd be happy with one swede.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Carrots - for some reason they don't grow in the ground at our allotments - haven't found out why yet.  Going to try next year in some planters with spent compost from the tomatoes as suggested by a neighbouring plot holder it works well for him.

Onions - but we have white onion rot - am trying some garlic in another big planter if that works we will try onions in there next year.

cheers

I wouln't mind growing a new spine.
I appear to have ruined mine....
Failing that, I'd settle for carrots. I just can't seem to be able to grow any.
It's not just me either, several people on our allotments have trouble with them.

asparagus  :D

I have a place in mind. The last bit of plot still under sheet mulch. It's been under cover for about 3 to 4 years so I expect every bit of weed to have well and truly gone by now. Fingers crossed.
