Very cute turkey, I wish I could stand having one growing up in my back garden. I wouldn't get away with the gobble gobble.

How much fun are you going to have looking after her Vember, jellyhead you're also going to have fun as well. Jealousy coming from here.

Well turkey baby has put on 20gms since I fished her out of the brooder!  But she has a rotten memory!  I put her food and water in front of her and she eats and drinks.  then flaps around the box she's in on her knees until she is facing the opposite direction to the food and water.

so I put the food and water in front of her and she eats and drinks, then it all goes around again!!!  It seems like she gets dizzy flapping around then forgets where the food is!!!

I tried giving her undercarriage a little clean tonight, as she sits in her poop, got some off, but it was obviously stressing her out, so I'm afraid she isn't the cleanest turkey baby in the world.  But she was sitting there tonight having a little go at preening herself for the journey!

lol Vember, hope she does okay for you!

Brian still hasn't culled the 2 meat chickens we have that can't walk, and they are still here!  Still sleeping in the greenhouse and flapping around on the grass on nice days.  They get a bit of company too now, little Rosie and Scary Mary who live in the small ark go in the greenhouse and have a drink and bite to eat and sit around having a natter with the 'boys'!!!!

It's funny seeing all four of them sitting there in the doorway!!

Well after a PM from Poultrygeist, I've just called Kate still enroute back to Liverpool!  Doesn't look like turkey baby will survive the journey to Liverpool!  Kate can't get her to drink, and she said her breathing is very laboured.  Perhaps I was silly to think she would survive such a long journey!!  She was drinking this morning, but didn't seem to like the wet sponge idea, and if she hobbles away from her food or water, she can't seem to find it again unless you stick it under her nose!

So poor little baby, looks like she won't be leearning to speak welsh after all!!!

Kate just called me.  turkey baby didn't quite make it to Liverpool!      but Kate said she looked very peaceful.  She had curled into a corner of the box.  Obviously found the long journey too stressful!

Oh well, obviously wasn't to be, but I am really grateful to everyone for their efforts on her behalf!!

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Thanks for your kind words

It was a shame to arrive at Kate's and find Jelly baby had died, I was on the M53 when I got a txt to say she didn't look good :(

On my own in a strange place and trying to find Mike alot was going on  :?

Grannie did a marvellous job with her the last week, when alot of people wouldn't have bothered.
I feel for kate more as it happened with her and in that situation it can't have been nice :(

But these things happen and Jelly Baby is at peace now :)

Thanks agin all

Sarah :)
