i've now pinched my dad's sheep hurdles to make a pen for her and the dog kennel for a house, we've constructed it next to the hen house so she can still be around the others but they can't attack her, for those of you who remember the Big Brother hen house versus the cow shed girls, Lonely's now in the diary room, after all, that's where they all go and cry when they get picked on...........................

That's what struck me when i took the silkie away from the the ex-batts

I am sorry to say "Big Clucker" but it looks like you have tried to cook her on an extremely high heat and burnt her.

TMG....would it be too much like defeat if you were to try and rehome her??

I know that I would be loathe to do it myself, especially if you have gotten really attached to her, but you seem to have tried every other avenue....

couldn't do that chookie, i feel wherever she goes she will be bullied, (because she's got no feathers the others autamatically see her as a weakling) unless she was to be kept on her own and then she really would be Lonely, the pen seems to be working and she's quite happy pottering about in there, we don't leave her in there all day, she's helped me muck out and my dad work on the tractor and she's the bees nees at weeding (looking for worms really) i think that if we can keep her from being pecked then once her feathers have come back, she may be ok, if not then we will cross that bridge when we get to it, but we won't give up on her,  we will find a solution eventually.

one good thing about stockholm tar, Lonely's waterproof, the rest of the girls are all sopping , they don't seem to realize if you go out in the rain, you get wet.
