Transplanting Leeks - Too Deep?

Hi

I have just spent the afternoon transplanting my leeks into a new bed.  I took all advice from the forum and dibbed a hole, trimmed top and roots, filled hole with water rather than soil.

However!

As I was going I realised that when I put in the leeks the bit they say never get dirt in (joints??) are below the ground level!  The joints dont have mud in them and are standing central in the dibbed hole.

Will the leeks grow faster than the soil fills the holes? Have I managed to make a monumental mess of transplanting!!
