Thrip trouble ..please help.
« on: July 28, 2008, 23:37 »
My polytunnel and every single plant in it is covered in microscopic thrips (I think) tiny little yellowish slender bugs about 1-2 mm long...millions of 'em.

They are wrecking the squashes leaves and making a right mess of the cucumber leaves too.

Is there an insecticide which might help to controll them ?

I've ordered some Bug Clear ,will this work ?

Cheers.

Hi there,

I'm quite new to veg gardening and I Didn't know what the little blighters were so I did a search. Have a look at this:

:D yeah thanks for the welcome.

I just managed to rent an allotment off the local council just over a month ago.

It's been a steep learning curve but with the help of this site, the net and a few books I'm getting there.
