Spots on peas
« on: July 25, 2008, 22:59 »
I have brown spots on the leaves of my peas.

Don't think it's mud, and the plants aren't old.  Rest of the row is fine.

Any thoughts?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Could be the onset of what alarmingly is called blight by some or less frentically, leaf spot. Caused by a few fungi. Can be seed born, so possible to have just a few plants affected initially. I'd lose them.

Bother.

I did wonder whether peas were ever affected by a leaf spot fungus.

I think I'll double check it isn't mud ( ) before doing anything drastic, but may well have to take your advice.  I think the seeds are unlikely to be the culprit as this is a successional sowing and previous sowings have been fine.
