We paid £2.51 each for ours R66vey.  They would have been cheaper if we'd got them from holly Berry Hatcheries in Lincoln, but Mr Knowitall (sorry Brian!!) left the ordering too late, despite my many complaints!!!  and they probably won't have any spare, so we had to go to Kelly's in Essex.  (You know the bloke nf Jimmy Doherty's heroes last week!!!)

They are called Plumpies and the hens will reach about 8.5kgs and the stags will reach about 11.1kgs by the week before Christmas.

The owner of 80 of them is coming to pick themup tomorrow, but he's got to pay for them first, or he doesn't get the turkeys!!!! lol

Mortality is higher with turkeys generally than chickens, but I'm hoping not to lose any, and hopefully we can sell 69 and just have one for us!!!

They are so laid back though, they come up to the door to see what I'm doing, unlike the chicks!!!!

On the down side .....we've noticed that a couple of them have bumblefoot Karl reckons they are too young and fragile to give direct (blade) attention to....so shall put some corn plasters on for the time being :shock:  :shock:

My friend Terence :roll: down the road (got by M Renard ) was fab, he was THE one that got me loving turkeys cos he used do do his little dance for me and then his neck and head would go blue and he would gobble at me :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock: as weird as that sounds :roll: totally not the usual normalness you get from me I know     it was all very innocent, well at least on my part :oops: I loved that turkey and that is why I am going to have a Stag and hen sometime very soooooon  I hope

I could come and look after them! Could probably cope with the chickens from the stuff I've picked up from all of you on here, Gramp used to have sheep and I used to help at lambing, horses hmmmm, how hard can they be. Sure Pip can show me in the right direction :shock:
