birdie bed time?
I had one egg this morning, went to the shop to get some straw for the nest box, I'd only put shavings in......came back, put straw in nest box and the 2nd chicken has taken all the straw out and put it under the perch, made her own nest and laid me an egg.
I'm going to have a go at putting them on the perch tonight.

I'm jealous...no eggs for me yet  :(

they are a bit young though.....think the oldest is only about 18/19 weeks? then the youngest is 15/16 weeks

(am I right in thinking they lay about 20 weeks?)

I think about 20 weeks is right but I'm not sure, these are my first chickens and I'm learning as I go along. Thank goodness for the internet.

Hmmm...

Snuggle in a nice cosy, comfy warm nest box all night.

Cling on to a nasty hard piece of cold wood with my feet all night.

Now.... what shall I choose

Thanks Kim! I had to physically put them on the perch again and block off the nest box, but just checked and they're still there!  :D

Think I'll just keep doing it for a few weeks until hopefully they get it!!
