our potatoes are fine but fellow gardener,s are all coming up with deep groves in them. our's are formost and they are fine. any ideas why they come up whith groves .thanks the old dragon

Hello Dragon and welcome to the forums.

it could be slug or damage by a grub of some type.  do any of the grooves become tunnels into the spud?

could be the fact that the weather has been dry then considerably wet then dry again making the spuds split
