Dear All,

Just had the quotes in for new double glazing (gosh its cheap now days) and will be having the windows replaced shortly.

I intend to use the old glass double glazed units to fashion some cold frames.

Q.  

Am I o.k. to use them as double glazed units or will this cause to much to heat to build up etc..?

or

Should I split the units down on make twice as many cold frames up?


Any advice either way gratefully accepted.

They will be fine. I once made a greenhouse out of double glazed units and this worked fine! I miss my greenhouse  :cry:

Thanks for the replies.  Now all I need do is clear the stinging nettles and the like to make space for them.

Grannie, for whatever reason, everytime I hear the word double glazing, I immediately think of your nice little cold frame. Perhaps its a secret wish
