my aubergine plants have all gone sickly of late, many are covered in tiny little cobwebs and i can see little green mites.  i wasn't sure if these might have been red spider mites so i've been doing my best to mist the plants down, it seems to have had some effect but everyday the little critters are still there.

I think this only works as a prevention, you might need to look for something a bit tougher there if no joy.
