herbicidal manure two year wait.

so, how many people will be giving up their allotments if you have to wait two years for it to clear?

'they' say you can grow other stuff that won't be affected, but i can see many people not wanting to chow down on weedkiller. my solution, of sorts, is to keep chickens on the polluted area(s).

not a solution for me, I'm afraid. We aren't allowed to keep animals at the allotments. I'm going to have to be one of the unintentionally poisoned.....

what will you do for the next two years? chance it? grow something that's not seemingly affected? i think maybe sweetcorn, as part of the grass family, might be OK-ish.

it's not 100% that we can have chickens yet though i see no reason why it wouldn't be allowed, otherwise i don't know what i'd do except maybe grow flowers.

i'd ask dow chemicals to pay for my next two years allotment fees though. i'm sure they'd send a cheque by return of post.

Ain't it lucky they have ready made herbicide resistant GM crop seeds for sale, too?

Yes, grow cut flowers for the trade, and from the money made you can buy a pristine supply of untainted manure.

Remember, happiness is a life-long supply of manure!  :)
