That's the most amazing loo seat ! And one cool chicken :D
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Hi RubyRed,well i'm hopefully getting my chooks beginning of August, that's why i've been doing some research.I have a very good book from the library called 'choosing and keeping chickens' by Chris Graham. It's published by Hamlyn. At the back it has lovely photos of the breeds,& loads of info about them.
I'll run through the best ones in the book:Australorp,great all-rounder.Barnevelder,beautiful bird,I'm interested in these,ideal for family & garden.Brahma,gentle giants.Cochin,cuddly giant.Croad Langshan,easy to keep.Dorking,needs space,docile.Faverolles,can be bullied,large & active.Marans,gardeners friend,not keen on being handled.Orpington,I love these!fat & feathery,can be bullied.Plymouth Rock,placid,friendly.Rhode Island Red,generally calm,good for beginners.Sussex,my favourite!inquisitive,easy to handle,pretty.Welsummer,I like these.only downside is they can be poor mothers.Calm & friendly.
These are some of my favourites,I hope this helps. Please remember though, this is all from the book & not from experience in keeping them.I'm sure you will get  some advice fro experienced keepers on the forum. :D  8)
