Scrubbing new tats
« on: July 14, 2008, 22:28 »
Could someone tell me please:

On my Charlotte new tats the compost has stuck to them a bit.  If I scrub them to get this off and some of the skin comes off will they still be alright in the fridge.  I would just clean as Ieat but these are for my Boy to take home tomorrow, and I just know one crumb of compost in his mouth and he will be put off them and waste 'em.  Very fiddly to peel instead of scrub which I don't really want to do anyway and I know he won't.

I am spoilt by nice clean tats from supermarket.  Never had to scrub 'em before.

When will he be eating them?  Because if you scrub them with water, they will start to deteriorate and won't taste quite as nice,  but you could maybe scrub them dry?  so getting the compost off, but not spoiling the tates?

My Brian stands there and scrapes my new potatoes.  Silly man, I just wipe them with my little brush in a drop of water and the skins come off easily

Scrubbed some dry for him to have Grannie. Will tell him to eat them soonest. Thought they might deteriorate with the skin scrubbed off.  Should really leave them to dry properly in sun when dug up as you are s'posed to.

Blast them with a hose and then leave to dry, saves damaging the skins

Show him the cost of pots in the supermarket...that'll make him less fussy!
