Sweetcorn - ensuring that it pollinates
« on: July 13, 2008, 20:39 »
I have just 2 plants in my garden growing next to each other.  I am aware that you should grow in squares to help with wind pollination.

They are "flowering" from the top.

To be honest not realy sure what is required to be done (If anything)
Thanks :D

Im the same with mine in a row...I planted 8 in a block but only 4 stayed put!
They arent flowering yet, but when they do Ill give them a good shake, and probably a good tickle with a brush from plant to plant

What I did last year was sweep my hand up the top flower and get a handful of pollen then place it on the cob fonds, seemed to have worked will all the cobs fully formed.
