An Egg!

Hooray!

Very dissapointed yesterday to find the first egg in the straw looking like a deflated balloon (something else came to mind first!), with bits of yolk and white around about.

However today we have a perfect little eggie laying in the straw! I think it is from the brown hybrid that we have (the cockerel the same age started crowing a couple of weeks ago).
Hopefully the Buff Sussex will start soon! Then the Light Sussex, then the buff Wyandotte bantam!  I can't wait!

As we got the eggs as 'living egg' chicks from school the egg has been shown around year 2 and 5 by my children to the others so they can see the circle of life has been completed (without the dying bit!)

I couldn't possibly elaborate to someone of such a delicate disposition, you being sooooooo innocent an'all!

I feel a visit to the naughty step coming on with a bucket of wine!

Think there's a cue for the naughty step, just go to the sex change in call ducks thread. Probably need a guidance rating
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
