just eaten our first harvest ever and gosh what a difference it tastes!
we had new pots, peas and beans all from our garden and they were the best ever, especially the peas. from plant to plate in 20 mins!!
even my fussy son said how lovely they tasted. next is to chomp thru our far too many rosso lettuces!! tryed some and thats delicious too but grew far too much, we are getting to end up like rabbits!!

hehe erm..let me remember (deep breath)

Hundreds of peas ( :D ), leeks, three types of lettuce (ill join you in a hutch party later this year!),beetroot, radish, pumpkin for the wee lad, french dwarf, runner and broad beans, spring cabbage, caulies, sprouts, loads of carrots, snips, fennel, herbs, sweetcorn, toms, chillies, peppers, cucs, swede, broccoli, squash - thats what i remember off the top of my head!
Most of which are late planted because I only got the plot two months ago
So late harvesting and patience needed - lots of it! (and a very excited post at the end of it  :D )

Am also going to try some new pots in a bag for Christmas just for a whirl

I have been digging spuds up today.  A pan full of Anya and a couple of pan fulls of international kidney.  the anya were ok but not really to my taste for a spud so shan't grow them again.  the IK spuds tough look good and they were prolific croppers, got loads of spuds off each plant and some of them very big.  the peas aren't making it to the pot yet!  I planted more this year than last but don't have as good a harvest this year.  better luck next year I hope.  the BB are still cropping after a month of harvesting so am impressed with their longevity (and taste!)

"the peas. from plant to plate in 20 mins"

Come on chick, you can do better than that, fresh picked should be on plate in ten mins max!!  ;-)

Seriously, well done and you are dead right - you can't beat the taste, and do you feel as smug as I do when eating home grown stuff ?- I'm as smug as the professor of smugness at Smug University, Smugtown (as Blackadder might say much better!)
