fox is still torturing me hens its killed five so bought new coop and run which is fox proof (fingers crossed) but still round in mornings always about half to five i need a trap i have tried everything for sonic device to hanging cds but no good if anyone near the middlesbrough area has a trap or anyone has any ideas thanks andy :evil:

Thgouht you meant it was getting them at 5.30. I was gonna suggest holding them back for a couple of hours til it had cleared off.

are you in a rural or built up area,  in other words can it be shot with a triple two rifle. and then you can draw a line under it. :D  :wink:

no i live in a small housing estate my coop and run is all built in totally fox proof but it is jumping on top and scratching at it scaring the hens i dont have a gun or means of borrowing one its totally a nightmare

Could you extend some mesh around the coop, or over the top of it to keep the fox off ?

Or even put some spikes on top ?

Anything you can do to create a second line of defence so the fox can look but not touch. Even if it's an inconvenience, it'll stop him getting so close.

i like them to be as free as possable they are totaly safe its just the fox is upsetting them just need a trap but too expensive

You may want them to be as free as possible but you are not being kind by letting them out into their run where the fox can terrorise them :!:

Much kinder to keep them in their coop until a little later in the morning until you have removed the fox  :!:
