I'm thinking if this ******* weather carrys on much longer I'm going to start working on little macs and wellies for the girls.

I knit jackets for puppies at the local rescue place and a friend thought they were for chickens........................my mind is working overtime imagining the girls in the garden in red and yellow plastic macs. Now you realise I'm completely barking not marginally mad.

We got a saddle for our sultan hen (due to over amorous silkie cockerel) everyone has commented on it. Although at first she went mental trying to preen it!

You may be on to something there! My girls love dancing in the rain and get absolutely saturated, which isn't good for them apparently. With the constant rain they tend to go a bit stir crazy if I keep them in, so they end up looking very bedraggled and leave me worrying about them catching chills etc.

Even my ducks are filthy!!! They seem to like it though. Don't know why I got white ones. I don't buy anything white as I can never keep it clean so what possessed me with the ducks I don't know.

Something to think about for those planning to have ducks
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Thanks Snoozisuzi that site was well worth a visit    I see that someone has already perfected the knitted chicken suit, great for when in mid-moult the weather suddenly turns cold.

I like the souwester idea, my leghorn may have comb trouble though
