highs and lows of chicken keeping

we have just put down one of our chickens. she was very small compared to the others (1/3 of the size & the same age) and has only laid two eggs in 4 months( others 100+ each), dont think she was very well didnt seem to have any energy. so down to 4 now but hopefully 3 chicks on the way under the broody. 9 days to go (fingers crossed). thats the highs and lows i suppose
