Help with a garlic variety
« on: January 18, 2007, 21:30 »
Hi Folks

I picked up some garlic bulbs at Homebase and they are called "Fokyhama". It is one of the few times that Googling has drawn a blank apart from someone's blog that says that he bought some bulbs garlic at Homebase and they are called "Fokyhama"

Has anyone heard of this variety, is it totally new or possibly a misprint.

Regards
Dragonfly

it is not known by any of registered garlic names  so it may be a usual one named something different for import , can you give the packing or sales company who did it?

I'd have thought Munty might have known, being as he's partly Japanese.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

oh another land owner huh well  sir  pharrrp :tongue2:  we had ownership of most of the island of domingo we held the plantation of laguia and portmango until the rioting and murder which led to the forming of the new republic govt .. we held onto the 2 plantations due to our family being the most respected owners in the west indies. but my folks sold up n left one son  going to america ( white city ) and ending up as horses douvre for the indians then the parents died and my gggrrggrggt grandad came here to great yarmouth and founded a canning factory and the family got into the fishing industry in a big way ,and we have a street named after us  so there :tongue2:

That's very, very cool.  All my ancestors were agricultural labourers, apart from one lady who was registered in the 1851 census as "keeps a mangle".
