Can anyone I.D this problem?
« on: June 25, 2008, 22:09 »

These photos were taken tonight of a couple of plants on my lotty partners end of the plot. For some reason most of her plants seem to look a little sorry for themselves. She is watering most nights, but does not understand whats going on.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Is the top picture an apple - looks like it's been splashed  with something. Or it could be leaf blotch. Spray with a fungicide.

The bottom picture looks like a dead raspberry plant - could  be lots of reasons.

This is the problem, the lady next door has been acting very funny the last few days but I would of never thought she would go this far. My half of the plot is fine with no damage.

Let me just say this is just 2 of her plants. She had done some veg and mostly plants and flowers. Her veg is fine but any plants are either dead, flattened or on there way out.

I immediately thought of leaf spot and weedkiller respectively.

Wouldn't have thought she was responsible for the former but, as Aunt Sally says, it could be a load of reasons.

As you've already got the council lady involved, I'd notify her of this latest development.  She may be able to have the damage analysed to clear the mystery up.  And it also has it on record in case.

I can't recall now, but do you have a water butt?  Could it have been contaminated?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Water supply is from the same tap as I use.
Not a waterbutt

The top one definately looks like splashes to me
The fact that most of her plants have suddenly been affected in this way and not yours means that your plot buddy has done or used something different recently (eg the dodgy manure Ive been reading about), and it may be something that may affect yours also, or someone is playing silly b*ggers with something they shouldnt.

Either way  I hope they recover tugster :-(

These plants were planted straight into the soil. Nothing added and nothing had been changed. This is the problem

Well, i know this might sound odd, but the bottom one looks exactly like

1. Phosphate deficiency in Blackcurrants
2. Potassium deficiency in tomato
3. herbicide damage to Prunus.

take your pick, they all look like that.

I would like to think that no one would tamper with someone elses hard work. Its just odd that a plot full of plants are doing fine with no problems would be more or less dead within a couple of days. It seems strange that its all the plants that have the potential to be nice large plants when they fully grown. This is exactly what the nighmare lady protested about, claiming they would shade her veg.
I would not in any way think this woman was capable of this damage a few weeks ago. As I said in my other thread, this woman was caught tampering with my hose a few days ago. She was also on my plot, but when she spotted my lotty mate walking down the path she lept back over to her side.
Now I would not be so sure this is not something she would do.
I have no proof of anyone tampering with any of the plots, so quite at a loss as what to do about it.
I am going to remove a nice healthy small bush plant from my home and place it in my lotty partners plot. It will be interesting to see what happens. If this should also die or become damaged, I will look into getting it tested for any chemicals if this is poss.
