cuckoo maran - Is it a good hen for children????

don't know much about this breed so need some info

Marans are quite a placid breed so would be quite good for children.

Don't let the children over feed them though as the tend to get fat easily. Freeranging helps to keep them slim, which I suppose all applies to us humans too

I'm not even allowed to buy chicken for eating anymore although I was been serving up a lot of white fish

My 6 month old loves my 4 and when my 5 and 7 yearold neice pop round they will feed out of there hands.
They are a bit big for them to lift and hug. (proberley too meny treats)

Our cuckoo maran is gorgeous and has the biggest character of the four different breeds we have. She is very friendly and will follow us around. I'd say they are a good breed for children.

I have a gapyear son who tells me that the guinea pig he ate in Peru tasted of chicken as well, I won'y be finding out for myself.
