Im growing 5 types this year twinkle , meteor, jaguar, endeavour, and balmoral - got carried away at T&M as you do.  Having tried 3 of them there really is a distinct difference in taste.

Does anyone have any personal favs  :?:  I'll certainly grow the Jags again but I can live without the meteor.

Suggestions for next year ? I rather fancy trying those Alderman

This has been asked before - and it's still Kelvedon Wonder!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Alderman are fab. Lincoln is another nice sweet summer pea, I like.

I am growing Half pint also from T&M.  Haven't got any peas yet just flowers so will let you know.
12 - 15 inches high.  Not grown peas before.  Doesn't seem very bushy, I am wondering if I should have planted more than one in a pot.  Some nfo here on the green shaded part of page:

I'd have thought so. Bear in mind in the open, you'd sow 15 or so seed to each foot of row.

I don't know what size pot you've got, but in, say a 6 inch pot, I'd have put at least half a dozen seed in.

 Thought I did something not right. 6 inch pot would have been better as I put one pea in a 8" pot.

Only did three, one in each pot as wasn't sure if I would like them.  I bought them because I remember when I was little splitting the pods for my mum and eating them raw.  Little bit of nostalga.  Partner doesn't like them although he eats most vegetables raw even brussel sprouts (which are hot and peppery when raw).

I like Kelvedon wonder too and also little marvel but the ones I planted direct are not doing well at all (the LM) whereas the pot sown ones (then transplanted) are thriving.  the KW are doing great though.  I also like the hurst greenshaft.  I did try alderman last year but wasn't impressed really.  Got a few small pods now on the little marvel, must go up today and check on them and pick some more BB.

I can recommend Petit Pois "Calibre".  Not that they're cropping yet, just flowering but I grew them last year as well.  Mmmm.  Can't wait.  They won't make it to the kitchen.
