Daft newbie PSB Questions

Hi, I've never grown PSB before, I've been given (by a friend of a friend, so no instructions) some 3" square pots and each pot has about 5 stems growing out from the compost with little "branches" coming off of each stem. the plants are about 6" tall above the pot.

Now, here's the questions... Does each pot contain one multi stemmed plant or does each pot have several plants crowded inside? and do I plant each pot as one plant or divide them into individual stems?

Any help gratefully recieved.

You have several plants in one pot.

I would be inclined to pot them up into individual pots and bring them on a bit before putting them out.

If they have a good root ball when they are put into the ground it's so much better for the plant.

I thought as much...

I will give them a good soak to soften everything up before I seperate them, hopefully without too much damage to the root hairs, and grow them on as you suggest.
