Which weeds can I compost?

We are digging over our new plot border by border but I am confused as to which weeds I can compost. At the moment it all tends to get thrown away. Is there a good guide anywhere to weeds?

I put all mine in apart from dandelions.

i put bindweed in the council compost, not my compost - I am told it will survive and return to haunt you - it needs drying out or mechanical grinding to be safe.

Pretty near anything so long as it hasn't seeded and if a perrenial nettles,dock,dandelions etc you cut the roots off

IIRC don't put couch grass in the compost

No roots!

Only greens, that's what i've been told. Apparently they can come back and haunt. I wouldn't put any weed roots or any that have gone to seed in.

DO NOT COMPOST - couch grass, mares tail, bind weed :!:
