That was interesting as I've never seen a fox in action actually catching a chicken.

When people say on here that you should shoot foxes, easier said than done. Did you see the size of that guy's gun    Who has one of those handy  :!:  :D

I DO
my dad's just seen a fox pass by the cowshed,  the arrogance of him (the fox that is not my dad)  now we know his path i'm sending Sam down after school, hopefully he'll get him on his way back from wherever he was going, i don't know for sure if he's had any of my girls as there's 68 of them and almost impossible to count, i only know that none of the familiar ones have gone missing,  we'll do a head count on sat ( taking them out of the shed one at a time) but i'm not taking any chances that fox has got to go.........

Don't think for one second that you can kill a fox with an air rifle please do not take pot shot's at them. Yes they are a pain and yes they need to be shot but you will only injure the fox with a air rifle that most people can obtain. You need a proper rifle for a fox.

Don't worry, it's not a air rifle, my dad has a gun cabinet full of shot guns (and a licence) Sam will use either the 4.10 or what he calls the elephant gun, my dad will no doubt sort him out, having been brought up with guns he is responsable, knows what he's doing and shoots to kill not injure, he is also supervised,  foxes are new to him however as he mainly shoots rabbits ( they eat our crops).

I think my post may have been a bit abrupt Jim,  i would like to point out that i don't have anything against foxes, i just don't want them to kill my hens, there is a point about fox hunting here, our local hunt would rustle them up a bit ( kills were few and far between) and inevitably the fox would be moved on, now  though the fox has put down roots so to speak, so instead of losing the occasional chicken once  every few months, i'm at risk of losing them all in one go.......
