Mmmmm.... raspberries.

Just eaten the first raspberries off the canes this year. All 5 of 'em.

Should get a good crop over the next few weeks. Still got a few frozen from last year.

I think Summer is well and truly here at last.

ive been given some from another plot holder, well been told to dig up what i want as he said they have started to take up to much room lol

They do tend to sucker freely.

But are easy enough to control and we're gicing a few canes away each season. Spread the happiness !

Obviously makes him happy. Maybe he's a millionaire and he'll leave you a few mill in his will.

I dare say he appreciates your company. Not got a lotty but it seems they're a real social club for a lot of people. Brilliant, healthy way of stayign in touch with your community.

I absoulutely love raspberries - my all time fav fruit so am really enviious of you Rob. I was considering planting some canes as a friend has some to spare, but I don't have a lottie, and the only space in the garden would be against our boundary fence - I know they sucker and I can keep them fairly well under control in my own garden, but will they creep under the fence and upset my neighbours?? and if so is there a clever way to stop them?

I think it safe to say they will sucker and I have no idea how to contain them other than some sort of physical barrier.

We've only been here less than 2 years and I suspect the rasps predate us by a good few years. They are in 2 or 3 borders and pop where they will

Ooh I'm excited for this year's crop too! We still have tons and tons in the freezer from last year, I just made some of them into a tasty rhubarb and raspberry crumble.
