Hi Auntie , motor hoeing was practiced a lot before spraying. Basically it replaced the planet junior. The hoes are pulled by a wheel driven machine.
but its difficult to adjust the hoes to not Berrie the plants

some pics

General lay out

Shows the hoe arrangement

If you look carefully you can see the raddish between the burried hoes as they lift and kill the weeds

The green bits just break up the soil before the blades. I need to fit a wheel or skid for depth adjustment. Because if I go to deep I burrie the young plants.

Honda F400... I used to asssemble those as they arrived 2 packed in a wooden crate..in need of assembly..with numbered parts for each packed all around...one of my early YTS employment tasks. :) . Standard fit was the wheels as in 2 wheel tractor..and slasher tines (made in UK??)extra..

Apologies for my trivia interlude...

..back to motor hoeing..

Hi Dori
all info is appreciated. Do you know if they came with a rear rotavator (one on the back as well as slasher tines) :?:

Hello,
I've never actually seen one in the flesh...but seem to think there was a rear tine tiller attachment in the catalogue....there's an auxillary drive shaft under a black plastic cover on the gearbox side...perhaps that may have some connection with such...

The old seed drill has a marker bar so with a bit of care the rows look nice and even.
