Bolting Porcelain garlic???

is my porcelain garlic bolting? All 130 of them are starting to get seed heads, but is this normal for porcelain garlic??? As I pulled on you and cut it open and the bulb has formed all be it a tad small still :)

I'm growing the porcelain garlic for the first time this year but I think you can expect them to produce the seed heads (scapes). You can cut them off and cook them and leave the rest of the garlic to develop as normal. That's the theory anyway!

Yep as GregM says, nip the seed head off, eat if you wish and leave the bulbs in the ground, they will now put more energy into swelling the bulb so you should get some nice big bulbs.

130 is a magical-mystery number for garlic.  :lol:
That's exactly the number of garlic plants that I've got.

Onions, doing poorly in the foreground. Garlic, all rusty at the far end.
The successes and failures of each year keep me motivated for the following year.

Somehow I ended up with about 250 plants, mixed varieties, so I'll be selling some at the roadside to help pay for garden supplies.
The rust won't kill your garlic, Wally, just makes it unsightly. It's a disease carried on the wind, thought to be propogated by certain pines and currants. Burn all affected foliage.
