We had our 1st 2 cucumbers for tea from the greenhouse with
Beetroot
Radish
Lettuce
spring onion
monge tout
all grown in the garden!! stashed 3 courgettes in the fridge for tommorow along with some broad beans
Oh and shop bought new tattys cooked with home grown apple mint.
This was served with fresh mackerel we caught last night at the beach.
We sat round the chiminea in the garden and felt very proud!!
This is the 1st veggie growing year for us with many years hopefully to come.
Thanks to everyone on here for the advise given through the early cold winter days when we thought it would never happen.x

Well done.

They sound tasty HA.  My romaine lettuce and spring onions are really slow this year.  Although I did plant two weeks later than useual, because of weather.  I am in West Sussex.  This is my second veggie growing year and its a bug now it really grabs ya doesn't it.  When did you start your veggie off.

I started with all my seedlings everywhere in the house then in the greenhouse with a little heater.
I bought plastic tunnels for the veg patch from the pound shop.
Probably looking back we set ourselves up alot of extra work by doing things a bit early and have made a few mistakes.
We will take some pics and put them on here as i love seeing what we are all up too.
We are competing with two neighbours on the beef toms as to who can grow the biggest!the neighbours are wise old gardeners but we will see.
What part of west sussex do you live?
