too late to sow squash?
« on: June 09, 2008, 14:23 »
i'm getting crown prince seeds as they seem to be highly reccommended by squash growers on this forum. Is it too late to grow from seed as i've just bought some seed off ebay.

Also, is it okay to put raw, unrotted horse poo and sawdust under the plants (when they've grown  )

I would'nt have thought it too late....they will soon catch up when the weather stays warmer. Not sure about putting new poo underneath, but I'm sure it would'nt be too bad if you put a thick layer of straw on top of the poo :)

Or put a layer of old grow bag compost or similar on top of the poo. Werks fer me.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
