use whichever seeds you like, employ the same methods of growing for each batch, plant batch (a)a week or two earlier, not according to the moon if you like and then plant batch (b)according to the moon, batch (b)will overtake batch(a),batch(b)will be a much more productive plant in everyway, try it.

How do you know?  What evidence do you base this on?  Is it a feeling in your water?

muntjac i know you are going to try this method out,try it on some onion seed over the next couple of weeks ,2 batches like i decribed,in pots in the glass house or indoors, and plant out when ready on two seperate occassions, one batch according to the moon and one not,i use onions as an example, as now is the time to start them off from seed

As a teenager I was living with my in-laws on a farm in Italy. You know what a lot of teenagers are...think they know everything.
I dismissed as superstitious nonsense when they would only plant at certain phases of the moon.
Many many years later I discovered that beans sown at the wrong time of the moon were very very prone to a small black beetle which burrowed into the bean then left a hole in the beans when dried. Didn`t happen if sown at the correct moon phase.
I bought a goatskin rug which drove me to distraction as it shed the hair forever more. Talking to the supplier when I had got fed up with the rug and thrown it out, was told that it was killed at the wrong phase of the moon and it would never have stopped losing the hair. I subsequently read this from a different source completely
So here I am over 50years later sowing /planting  by the moon.
Don`t knock it until you have tried it!

I won't knock anything until I know its wrong, so will have a go too.

So if I sow my onion seeds when it says its a good day, do I have to then transplant the seedlings by the moon, or just when they are big enough cauli????
