thats correct yes i'm with you all they way on that one,
the thing i'm getting at is
sowing with the moon certain types of plant/veg at certain times and what not to sow or plant just cus the moon is the wrong or right shape
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

The earth's trajectory around the sun controls the seasons.  The moon is a rock in space that just happens to be near enough to have an effect on our tides.  Nothing magical about that.

Given the price of the book (£8.99) and the fairly limited readership, I doubt that NK is a charlatan out to make a fortune. He cites a number of experiments: "1" carried out by a Colin Bishop (a gardener and astronomer) over 3 years, 1 carried out by Jack Temple of Here's Health using 12 row planting, decades of planting by Maria Thun and studies by various Universities, including Yale.
I'm not saying I'm an instant convert - just that it's interesting reading which I'm willing to try.
Jeez, we'll be arguing the toss over companion planting next ...

one question here Cauli, will using F1 seeds make a difference here? From all accounts they are designed to grow at an even rate and crop at the the same time, so I suppose to prove the theory correct we must use organic seed!

Some companion planting really works.  No problems with that.  Just think a little calm and common sense needs to prevail.
