obviously you have no propagater or glass house, and yes anything is hard to find ,but seek and you shall find it,just try the method, try it and prove yourself wrong, anyoneone knows that now is the time to start onion seed off,so how you can make a suggestion like "any of these things will die"  is absurd

Have to agree with you Shaun, it's a lovely romantic notion but defies logic.  Give me hard, empirically tested evidence and I might take another look.  Sorry, but this ere woman is well 'ard.

its nothing scentific its just a natural thing been used for hundreds of years . the seasons always had natures clocks to sow and to harvest and the scientists just decided to waste thousands of £ on proving the theory is all .

I'm with Shaun on this. In my opinion planting time is when you're not at work and it's not going to freeze. When I saw the title of the thread I thought you meant planting by moonlight - and I was picturing people blundering about in the dark.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

i like the one where the scientists have found out that milk in tea is ok but without is better cos of the flavourides or summat is neutralised with milk, and i know someone who needs a hip operation ?
sorry off topic there, there are more things in heaven and earth that we dont understand .

Hi King Cauli.  It would be a very boring world if we all agreed on everything.  I'm not knocking you, just asking for proof that can be tested over time and again and again.  Point me in the direction of proof and I will take an unbiased look at it.
I have to admit to being the worlds most sceptical and least spiritual person.  But, in the world of quantum physics, discoveries are being made that turn conventional physics on its head.  In fact, it completely destroys many theories.
Long may our differences remain and here's to healthy debate.

Coincidentally, I've just bought Gardening & Planting By The Moon 2007 by Nick Kollerstrom, which sets out some of the "science" behind the method and details the results of a number of experiments across the globe. As a newbie, I'm going to give it a go (when the growing season's upon us) - I figure I've got nothing to lose.
On a slightly different note, Diggers Diary by Victor Osborne is going to be released in paperback in April. I think it's a classic ....

Yeah, but there is science and there is "science" and there is selling a book.  There are an awful lot of charlatans out there.  Let us know where his evidence comes from and how rigorous the testing was.
