Now we can get more hens!

Now we have the cube we can increase our "flock" from three to six...may get more later but at the moment six seems like a good number...Hope they will get on ok?

Husband wants another Pekin (cos they are cute   ).  Not sure what I want.... a bit like when I buy a car, no skill and judgement attached... just pick one the colour I like!  Think it probably works with hens?

Worth deciding whether you want them for good laying or for 'other qualities'  and then do a bit of homework on the various breeds and hybrids; I was really tempted by the Silkies (still am, they're so pretty   ) but I really want eggs and I don't really want a broody.  (Honest Jelly, I really, really don't and you're not going to tempt me with all your pictures of cute little chicks and talk of ducklings, you're really, really not, not ever, never ever  :!:  :!:      :!: )

I also went for the heavier and less flighty types because I didn't want them flying over the fence to next door's garden (or into my dog run  :!: ).

And then I went for the colours I liked
Nobody said this was going to be easy ... but some days are better than others!
