Oooh I didn't know that DD, thanks! I just sowed them in a straight line, more than 3 inches apart. Had just weeded and dug over the first bed on the plot and was keen to get something in before it was too late, I should have looked into it a bit more.

Will get sowing on Saturday, if I don't find the time to do it before then.

Oh then you might have no problems at all, just need to so a lot more outside.

Aunty - I don't use anything as a 'general' fertiliser yet, I only got the plot 3 weeks ago and just got one bed weeded and dug ASAP to get some stuff in! Just been for a run though and noticed a sign on the edge of a field offering horse manure, so will have to go back for the phone number and find out if it's rotted and ready to use, and get mulching.

I were told they were runners by the chap who gave them to me, only got that to go on I'm afraid!

Gobs - I will be sowing many more on Saturday!

You need to add something with nitrogen.  Liquid Growmore, Liquid Seaweed, something like that for a quick boost of nitrogen to green them up.
