.......  that I don't seem to have been bestowed with   :?  :D

So I've been meticulously turning these eggs for the last 2 1/2 weeks and now I'm supposed to do NOTHING?????

It's just too fustrating.  So please could you tell me when I might begin to see some sign of SOMETHING happening?  By the way I'm on day 19.  So I do realise I have a couple more days of sitting on my hands at least.

Thank you  :D .  But might I at least HEAR something soon?  What's the first sign.  And is that likely to be today?  Tomorrow?  Hatch day?

It's very hard typing with my mouth (sitting on hands)

How exciting.  When are your due?

I can't hear a thing and felt guilty opening up the incubator.

Woo Hoo two are pipping and we can hear them.  Another egg is shaking a lot.  This is too exciting and I'm getting absolutely nothing done!

How long does the pipping stage take and will I need to get involved if it takes too long?  Kate Thear says after several hours they might need help but my friend says no.

Yes, I've read that too but it's SOOO worrying.  I'm pretty sure I haven't got the humidity high enough in the incubator although I have followed instructions the reading is still low.

So I'm really worried that the shells aren't going to be soft enough for them to get through.

My goodness this is hard work   :D

And yes I know it's even harder for the little chickies!  They do seem to be stimulated by us talking to them or cheeping at them (even my anti-chicken OH is cheeping at them!   ).

Hi, appologies if i have missed reading something - what are you hatching, as number of incubation days can vary - hatching can take from 24-48 hrs from when you hear pipping - our new recent gosslings took nearly 48 hrs from the first tiny chip in shell :D

it is best NOT to try and help them, also try and increase the humidity, you could try with a wet sponge next to eggs or spray them lightly with warm water from those hand held house sprays.  If you try and help them and they are not ready they could bleed to death.  I hated to watch ours hatch as i am so impatient i feel that i want to help them :?  - but hubby says to leave them alone.

best of luck
clare :)
