Downloading a photo - Help please
« on: May 27, 2008, 10:39 »
I do apologise for asking this as I am sure it must be covered somewhere BUT I have looked on site for advice and done several searches and cant find the instructions.

It must be me I know and like I said I do apologise in advance but could someone please give idiot proof guide to posting a photo as I have a problem with my tomato plants and was hoping to download a couple of snaps to get some advice on them.

I have saved them onto my pictures on PC and hopefully they are saved in a file I can access easily. Oh, and do they need to be reduced to certain size as well?

Any help much appreciated (as always  :) )

Maryann

Hello Maryann,
You'll need to upload them to a free photo hosting website first, ie Photobucket, Webshots etc. You'll need to register, but it's very straightforward.
Then you'll be able to link to them from here so that they can be viewed.
HTH

:D Thanks for such quick replies and so helpful, now all I have to do is find this photobucket thingy.

I do have Adobe Photoshop Album starter edition - is that any good?

If not. will go and get the photobucket onto PC.

Thanks again....you are very very nice people  :D

Not you need something web based like Photobucket, that this forum itself can refer to and pick up the piccie, for want of a better, non-technical expression!

Hi everyone

I have now registered and managed to download some photos - more by luck than judgement as I didn't stop to read instructions just had a bit of a play around.

I have managed to post my problem with couple of photos so big thanks for all the help.

When I get a bit of time I'll go back and read up on the photobucket website to see if there is a better way of doing things.

One small niggle is the blooming adverts on the site but can't complain when it is free I suppose.

It's a pitty that the site can't host the photos...(guess it's cost) well it is for me as I get most time to read the forum when it's a rainy lunchtime at work. Of course the company has firewalled/filtered out nearly all the common photo hosting websites. Take today - tried to show a mate the Munty Frame pictures - but all blocked :-(
