Is it true that you can feed them yoghurt if so how and when??

Hiya.

i have only had my 3 girls for a week but also hear its good for them so today I bought a pot of natural pro-biotic yoghurt and made them a porridge of the yoghurt and layers mash, my god they loved it...couldn't get enough. I think its supposed to be good for their digestive system or if they have runny tummy, anyway my question is how often can I give it to them? they love it so much.

ummm IMO only if they need it ..their natural digestive flora should be fine. Certain situations they may benefit from it e.g a course of antibiotics which would upset their tummies by destroying the good bacteria as well as the bad. Chickens dont need mollycoddling only occasional treats.
Watch out I am about to be shot down in flames now!!!

Did it once. From a bowl. Every time they dipped their beaks in, they shook off the excess.

I was plastered in the stuff at the end.

Dread to think what they'd be like with a fruit flavoured one !!

I have only given yoghurt when any of the girls have had antibiotics as it is a natural deterrent of thrush and yes it's messy alright!
