and my chickens are wandering around.. is it ok for them to get soaking wet? I've put up a temp shelter in the form of hte carrier they came home in yesterday - with their tub of layers in there..

but they are wandering around happily.

Will they realise they can get in the coop - as they got themselves out?

I'm sure you'll say it's all fine, but thought i'd better check.

Yeah mine will sit out in it for hours  :roll:  as long as they are able to get out of the rain if they want they should be ok, I imagine your coops snug and draft free they will dry off in there.

If our girls feel just one spit of rain they run like billyo heads down and wings back up the garden to get a good postion on the perch in the run!

Well they're still happy out there rummaging around. They've found the food/shelter though so that's good. Don't seem bothered by veggies yet, but maybe it's new to them.

What you have to do, Porffor, is follow them round with an umbrella until they decide to go to bed.  

But get someone to take a photo of you as well.  

I bet ours have forgotten what rain is. Must be a good few weeks since we had any.

It's really piddling here now. A good day to be indoors with a cuppa.

Or camping. I like the sound of rain on a tent (from the inside). Takes me back to childhood holidays. It always rained when we went on holiday.
